FAQ
Is 300W too much for my 12V battery?
No. With the included 20A controller, 300W is safe for most 100Ah–200Ah 12V deep-cycle batteries (AGM, LiFePO4, GEL).
If your battery is small (under 50Ah), it may recharge very quickly — but it will not damage it when properly connected.
Can it recharge a 100Ah battery in one day?
In good sunlight, yes.
300W can generate up to 1200–1500Wh per sunny day, which is close to the usable capacity of a typical 12V 100Ah battery (~1200Wh).
Actual time depends on:
- Sun conditions
- Battery state of charge
- Panel positioning
Can I run my RV fridge directly from this panel?
The panel charges your battery during the day.
Your fridge runs from the battery.
With a proper battery setup (100Ah+), 300W is suitable for supporting a 12V RV fridge, lights, and device charging.
Is 300W suitable for multi-day camping trips?
Yes. 300W is ideal if you:
- Stay off-grid for several days
- Use a 100Ah+ battery system
- Want stronger daily recharge to avoid power shortage
For light weekend use, a lower wattage panel may be sufficient.
Can I use it with a portable power station?
Yes. The kit supports most power stations via:
- SAE
- XT60
- DC5521
- Alligator clips
Always check your power station’s input limit before connecting.
Is 300W too big or heavy for camping?
This foldable panel weighs about 15 lb (6.9 kg).
It is designed for:
- RV travel
- Car camping
- Van life
- Base camp use
It is not intended for backpacking.
Does it work on cloudy days?
Yes, but output will be reduced.
Solar panels still produce power under cloud cover, though at lower efficiency.
For best results, aim the panel directly toward the sun.
Is this for permanent rooftop installation?
No. This is a portable folding solar panel designed for ground setup and adjustable positioning during camping or travel.
If you need a panel for permanent daily installation (such as mounting on an RV or home roof), consider DOKIO’s 400W rigid solar panels, which are better suited for fixed long-term setups.
