Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why is the actual power output sometimes lower than 100W?
The rated 100W output is measured under ideal laboratory conditions. In real-world use, output can vary depending on sunlight intensity, panel angle, temperature, shading, and the efficiency of your controller or battery system. Under good sunlight, this panel typically produces strong charging power, but real output will naturally fluctuate throughout the day.
Can this 100W flexible panel charge power stations or batteries?
Yes. This panel can charge most portable power stations or 12V battery systems. If you are charging a 12V battery directly, you will need a solar charge controller. Many portable power stations already include a built-in controller for solar charging.
Is this panel suitable for curved RV roofs or boats?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of flexible solar panels is that they can bend slightly to fit curved surfaces. This makes them ideal for RV roofs, boats, vans, cabins, and other installations where rigid panels are difficult to mount.
Can I walk or step on this flexible solar panel?
No. Flexible panels are designed to be lightweight and bendable, but they are not intended to support body weight. Stepping on the panel may damage the solar cells. For best durability, install the panel on a stable surface and avoid placing weight on it.
Is this panel suitable for backpacking or hiking?
This panel is lightweight compared to rigid panels, but it is mainly designed for RV, van, marine, or fixed installations. For backpacking or hiking, smaller foldable solar panels are usually more convenient to carry.
Can I connect multiple flexible panels together?
Yes. Multiple panels can be connected together to increase your total solar power. For example, two panels can create a 200W system, and four panels can create a 400W setup. Always make sure your charge controller or power station supports the combined voltage and current.

Perfect for my camper roof

Stuck it flat on my camper roof with VHB tape and it's been charging my battery bank flawlessly. Super lightweight and bends right over the curve.

Great panel for the price

Purchased two of these for my sailboat. They keep my house battery topped up all day even in partial shade. No complaints.

Good but wiring could be better

Panel works well and puts out close to 100W in full sun. The junction box wires are a bit short though — had to extend them to reach my controller.

Survived a cross-country trip

Drove from Arizona to Florida with this mounted on my van roof. Held up through rain and highway speeds. Still producing full power.

Slim and powerful

I was surprised how thin this is. Mounted it on my pontoon boat bimini frame and you barely notice it's there. Charges my deep cycle battery in a few hours of sun.
