Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I sell power back to the grid with this inverter?
No. This is an off-grid inverter — it powers your home from solar and battery, and can use the grid or a generator only as backup to charge and supply loads. It does not feed power back to the grid, so it is not for net metering. It is the right choice for off-grid cabins, RVs, tiny homes, and whole-home backup systems that keep running when the grid goes down.
Do I need a separate MPPT charge controller?
No. Two MPPT trackers are built into the inverter (up to 99.9% tracking efficiency). Just connect your solar panels directly to the PV terminals — no extra controller to buy or wire.
What appliances can this inverter power?
10,000W continuous (20,000W peak) covers most homes at once, including: • Refrigerators and freezers • Lighting, TVs, fans, laptops, routers • Washers, microwaves, small AC units • Motors up to 6 HP — well pumps, workshop tools Quick check: add up the running watts of everything you want on at the same time. Under 10,000W and you're good — the 20,000W peak covers appliance start-up surges.
What batteries are compatible with this inverter?
It is a 48V system (battery voltage range 40–60V) that works with most common solar battery types: • LiFePO4 / LFP lithium batteries • AGM batteries • GEL batteries • Flooded lead-acid batteries Charges at up to 200A from solar (120A from mains, 200A hybrid). For lithium batteries, connect the BMS over CAN/RS485 and the inverter manages charging automatically.
How many solar panels can I connect?
Two MPPT inputs, each accepting up to 5,500W (11,000W total). String voltage should stay inside the 125–425V MPPT window and never exceed 500V open-circuit voltage. With our DOKIO 400W panels, the recommended setup is: • 5 panels in series per MPPT input • 2 strings total = 10 panels ≈ 4.1kW • Voltage fits the MPPT window — no guesswork
Will my home stay powered during a power outage?
Yes. The inverter switches to solar/battery output in about 10 ms, so your loads keep running with barely a flicker. In off-grid mode it runs from solar and battery all the time, so an outage never affects you.
Can I use more than one inverter together?
Yes — parallel up to 6 units for 60,000W combined. • Each unit needs its own solar array • The first unit acts as host and sets the output voltage • Expand anytime without replacing your existing setup
Can I use this inverter with a generator?
Yes. The AC input accepts 90–140VAC from the grid or a generator, and can charge the battery while powering loads. With the dry-contact port (and a generator that supports remote start with an ATS), it can even auto start/stop the generator when the battery runs low.
Is this inverter certified for installation in the US?
Yes. It is UL1741 listed, plus IEC 62109-1/2 safety, FCC Part 15 Class B, and RoHS compliant — meeting the requirements for residential installations in the US.
Can I monitor and control it from my phone?
Yes. Plug in the optional Wi-Fi/GPRS module and use the free mobile app to watch live status, solar production, battery level and energy flow — and adjust settings from anywhere. The LCD on the unit shows the same information at a glance.
Where can I install it — indoor or outdoor?
Indoor only (IP20). It is a wall-mount unit designed for garages, utility rooms and basements. Keep it dry with space around it for airflow (operating range −10°C to 55°C).
What's included in the box?
• 1 × DOKIO SPI-10K-UP inverter • Parallel communication cable • Ring terminals • Mounting screws Solar panels, battery and wiring accessories are sold separately. Warranty details available on request.
